About the Department
The Civil Engineering diploma at Vamanrao Ithape Polytechnic College is a 3-year program focused on the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, buildings, and more. Students gain hands-on training in surveying, drafting (manual & CAD), estimation, and structural design.
The curriculum includes exposure to industry-relevant software like AutoCAD and STAAD Pro, along with training in construction technology, material testing, and project management. Practical experience through fieldwork, lab sessions, and technical drawings ensures students are ready for real-world challenges.
Backed by experienced faculty and modern infrastructure, the department equips students with the skills needed for careers in both government and private sectors.
Students gain in-depth knowledge of core civil engineering domains including surveying, estimation & costing, construction technology, structural engineering, and transportation systems such as highways, railways, bridges, airports, tunnels, and harbors. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical understanding and practical application.
