About the Department
The Mechanical Engineering diploma at Vamanrao Ithape Polytechnic College is a 3-year program designed to build a strong foundation in the principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, manufacturing, and design. It focuses on the development, production, and maintenance of mechanical systems used in industries and everyday life.
Students receive hands-on training in areas like machine design, workshop practices, CNC machining, thermal engineering, and fluid mechanics. The program integrates both manual and CAD-based drafting, along with exposure to industry-standard software like AutoCAD Mechanical, SolidWorks, and ANSYS.
The curriculum emphasizes practical skills through lab sessions, industrial visits, live projects, and internships, preparing students for real-world engineering challenges and innovations.
